Chaos Theory

Final Project for AUT, based on Dr. Seuss stories and using sound as the main tool to create emotions, rather than the visuals. All objects produced within 3d Maya software and converted into flat images, characters set in a 2.5d world in After Effects. I did all the pieces for this project separately first, and the narrative and editing came along as the project evolved. It was not all defined from the start, although a lot of the guidelines were already pre-decided. I believe this way the project could breath and grow freely.

Showreel 08

A small compilation of all my works apart from the works I have done before my freelance projects. I decided to edit my showreel with a more upbeat and light feel to it and keeping it short and interesting.

Lipstick

This started of just as randomly filming my friend placing her lipstick on a train. From this the idea escalated to create a several location habit repetition. The idea behind this was to portray how automatic humans have become and how, due to habit, or lack of prioritizing moments, we seem not to be able to just enjoy our surroundings. The biggest challenge tho was that this idea happened at the end of the trip and there was not an overload amount of footage to work with. The result seemed to please my tutors, however.

Fish Belong In The Sea

This project was for a Digital Cinema class. I was involved in most of its levels, such as story writing, storyboard directing, casting, being the stuntman, producing, post-producing, audio-direction, among other things. The group was of about 5 people and we had to come up with a special effects required film of about 5 minutes long. What pleases me the most is the opening titles.

Beast

This was the first animation project that I had to do using Maya software. Was among other things my first real encounter with rigging and texturing an object. The brief was to draw and create a 30 second version of your character using this specific software. It had to be lit, textured and animated. An environment also had to be placed, but this was allowed to be composited in. I chose to create everything in Maya and push the software further.

Tokyo

While I was visiting a friend in Tokyo which does modeling for a living, I decided to make her a video about her time there, portraying her as a person, and not just as an objectified creature as her line of work usually makes her. I chose to keep it short as it was meant to keep her interest alive and an upbeat song to make her pleased. I  edited it from about 2 hours worth of footage that I had collected while there. The response was very positive.
